Kraken Power Play Ball Hockey School Application

The Kraken Power Play Ball Hockey after-school program aims to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical activity among students during the school year.


Program Overview:


  • Duration: The after- school program will span 6 weeks during the 2024-25 school year, with 1-hour sessions held once a week.


  • Facilitator/Coach: Each school will need to provide a dedicated facilitator or coach for the program. This individual needs to be employed or engaged by the school or the school district and will oversee the weekly after-school sessions on the school campus. Program facilitators will be expected to:
  • manage each after-school session
  • ensure participants are wearing appropriate safety equipment
  • record the weekly attendance of participants
  • distribute giveaways to participants and other students (when applicable)
  • maintain regular communication with Kraken staff to relay schedule and program updates


  • Location: Every school will designate a safe space on its campus where the ball hockey program will take place for 1 hour after school each week for 6 weeks.


Support from the Kraken and One Roof Foundation:


  • Equipment Support: The Kraken and One Roof Foundation will assist by providing equipment when possible.


  • Incentives and Giveaways: Incentives and giveaways may be provided to participants to enhance engagement and participation.


  • Registration Form: Each participant will need to complete create a mandatory registration (to be provided by the Kraken).


  • Curriculum and Recommendations: The Kraken will provide a comprehensive ball hockey curriculum along with program recommendations.


Schools currently hosting similar programs are encouraged to maintain their format. The Kraken will work with existing programs to enhance their efforts and ensure the success of the program.
